About CDG

Who is CDG?

Communications Data Group (also “CDG”) produces scalable, innovative billing and operational management solutions for use by its clients located in the United States and Canada. CDG is a wholly owned subsidiary of Palmetto Holdings.

Who are CDG’s clients?

CDG’s clients are service providers that offer telephone, cable, internet, and other services to their customers.

Who are CDG’s client’s customers?

Individuals and companies who contract with CDG clients for the use of one or more of the services CDG clients offer.

How does CDG support their clients?

CDG solutions include software used by clients to run their businesses that may be accessed remotely or operated by companies at their own location. A web-based interface exists for CDG clients to support their customers or for the client’s customers to review and manage certain information themselves. Mobile apps are also used to provide some of this same functionality.

Information Used and Why

What customer information do CDG’s clients maintain and why?

CDG clients maintain information necessary to support the products and services they offer to their customers that are maintained within solutions CDG provides. That information can include:

  • Customer name, physical address, email address and contact phone numbers;
  • Personal information such as social security number;
  • Creditworthiness including credit scores;
  • Service address, services used and additional information about those services;
  • Account balances and transaction history;
  • Usage information such as telephone calls or pay per view events;
  • History related to customer transactions and interactions.

Ways CDG clients use customer information

  • CDG clients use customer information in order to support the products and services they offer their customers and for everyday business purposes.
  • CDG clients share select customer information with governmental agencies who require that information for verification and use in governmental programs.
  • CDG clients share select customer information with third parties in order to provide products and services that its customers have subscribed to.
  • CDG clients may use customer information to market their products and services to their customers. Depending on applicable laws and/or client policies, customers may be able to limit the sharing of information for this purpose. The service provider (CDG’s client) must be contacted by the customer to determine whether limiting the use of their information for this purpose is possible.

What information does CDG maintain and why?

CDG collects information about the devices used to access CDG services and how that access was provided. This includes information like device type, web browser type / version, IP address and device location. This information may be needed for the proper functioning of the application but is also used for trouble shooting and to improve the end user experience.

CDG discloses information only to its clients or to parties its clients authorize. CDG does not itself sell information to advertisers or third parties.

Protecting Your Data

How does CDG protect your data?

To protect customer and company information from unauthorized access and use, CDG uses security measures that comply with federal / state law and standard industry practices. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy will be revised as necessary to reflect any necessary changes with the most current version being posted on the CDG website www.cdg.ws.

Contacting CDG

What if you have questions?

A CDG client’s customer’s questions or concerns about CDG, its services or the privacy of their data should be directed to CDG’s client (the service provider), who can address those concerns and involve CDG as necessary.

CDG clients and their staff should contact CDG through their normal support channels.

MBS Field Tech Mobile Application

Who is it for?

Technicians and support staff who are assigned MBS workflow tasks or trouble tickets.

What does it do?

Allows technicians and support staff of CDG clients to update jobs and review related information, using their cell phone or tablet.

What data does it use?

The only information related to the user of the application that is requested and use by the mobile application follows.

  • The account and password needed to access the application.
  • The location of the user, which is used to show work activities in the area, direct them to the location of a work activity or verify their work location.
  • The logging of activities related to the work efforts the user performs while using the mobile application.

In addition to the information identified above, the application does access already existing information about the individual or company the work is being performed for.

How is this info used?

Any information gathered by this mobile application is logged and stored for use by the company that employs the user. The application does not share any information about the user itself with any third parties. The location of the user, but not the user’s identity, is obtained using mobile application location services.
